IP licensing requirements

You are exempt from the professional verification certificate requirement if you meet any of the following conditions:

You are a Saudi national.

Full legal capacity.

Resident in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Not employed by a government entity.

No conviction for a crime involving dishonesty or breach of trust, unless rehabilitated.

Holds at least a bachelor’s degree (in law, science, engineering, or another accredited field) from a Saudi university or an equivalent qualification.

Holds the Professional Accreditation Certificate issued by the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP).

Payment of the prescribed licensing fees.

Governmental entities and non-profit organizations
Educational and research institutions
Individual inventors for personal use
Small businesses with annual revenue below threshold
